The recovery method comprises the steps of receiving a burst signal and evaluating an included pilot signal to generate a control signal for switching a first selector (GU1). The selector outputs either the burst signal or a delayed burst signal, that is delayed for a half bit period. The burst signal is doubled in frequency to provide a clock signal that is compared to a reference clock provided by the central station. The phase difference between the two signals generates a control voltage that is also used to switch the selector. The switching of the selector takes place during the reception of a preamble, and its output provides a signal whose phase is close to the reference clock signal.
