The facade construction comprises uprights (2), cross members (3) and accessories for holding the cross members in position between the uprights during installation. Fixing screws (13) fix the cross member ends to the uprights. The accessories comprise elastic member (4) formed by a folded metal plate which act on the cross member and/or the uprights. The elastic part (6) of the folded plate is inserted in one end of the cross member and is turned away from the upright and extends in the direction of the side of the construction. On the rear side of the cross member and on its two ends is a recess (10) for applying the cross member above the elastic plates.
