The resonance body (2) has a base (5) facing a spaced apart top (4) and side walls. A magnetic system (7) between the base and the top consists of at least one permanent magnet (8) and a ferromagnetic counter-body (9) in the form of a permanent magnet or soft magnetic metal. The magnet is rigidly connected to the base, and the counter-body to the top by means of a plastic tubular bar (10). Mechanical forces are transmitted by vibrations over the air gap between the magnet and counter-body when the strings are excited. The magnetic system is positioned in mirror-image formation to a tuning bar (15) under a free foot (12) of a bridge (13), in relation to the musical instrument's longitudinal axis of symmetry.
