Device for producing light effects in art display or in auditorium

The device comprises one or more light diffusers which form an ensemble, illuminated by one or more light sources. One diffuser (2) is transparent, is not mirrored irregularly and does not have even limiting surfaces. The diffusers are so arranged that the diffused light (5) is diffused in a darkened auditorium. The dimensions of a diffuser is between 1 and 30 cm. The light sources (3) are focussed radiators. The surfaces of the diffusers can be mechanically or partly roughened. The diffusers can be broken pieces of solid material, and have a refraction index of 1.45 to 1.55 against air. They may also be coloured.
