Winter/summer switching appts. for thermostatic taps in radiator central heating system

The switch has a body (1) with a plug (2) and measuring rod (3) which is interposed between a thermostatic head and a tap with return spring. The switch body contains a mechanical linkage (4,5,6,) which couples the thermostat rod (3) to the tap spindle. The operation of the mechanical linkage is governed by the position of a slider (7) which has a pin (8) able to move along a slot in a pivoted rocker arm (4) and to depress it's end in winter against a spring (10) which is stronger than the tap spring. In the summer position, the tap movement is equal but opposite to the thermostat movement but in summer the two are equal and in the same sense.
