PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To safely and also correctly move an embolus coil to a prescribed position in a vessel by permitting a thin, long and helical coil with an inner hole to be formed by means of plural winding wires having a specified value range of diameter and to be provided with a specified value range of outer diameter and respectively welding the whole winding wires to the adjacent wires. ;SOLUTION: The vessel clogging or embolus coil 106 is formed by winding a platina alloy wire in a helical shape and the diameter of the winding wire is generally within the range of about 0.0002 to 0.008 inches. Besides, the outer diameter of the coil 106 is favorable to be within the range of about 0.006 to 0.055 inches. The whole wires from the tip part of the coil 106 to a base end part 118 are respectively point-welded in every single place to the adjacent wires. Therefore, when the coil is especially returned to a position at the side of the base end at the time of moving the coil in the vessel, the wires are prevented from being separated in a point-welding joint part and the drawing of the coil itself in the whole length is substantially prevented.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
