PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a downward inclined shaft tunnel boring machine capable of preventing lowering of suction force of mud water at a sludge pipe opening on the side of a working face even in the case when a sludge pump is arranged on a rear part of the inclined shaft tunnel boring machine and excellent in suction efficiency of mud water. ;SOLUTION: A suction port 19 of a sludge pipe 18a to suck excavated muck drilled by a drilling rotational board 3 with water reserved in a cell 5 provided in front airtightly partitioned by a bulkhead 2 is opened to a bottom part of the cell 5, and mud water without containing excavated muck divided by a flow separator 25 in pumped up by a jet pump 42 and jetted toward the downstream from a nozzle part of a converging pipe 40 through a jet pipe 41. Consequently, pressure to wash away the mud water sucked from the cell 5 to the side of a sludge pipe 18b is generated, and lowering of suction force of the suction port 19 by water pressure of the mud water in the sludge pipes 18b-18e between themselves and a sludge pump 24 arranged in the rear of a tunnel boring machine main body 1 is compensated.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
