PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely judge the presence of a gas leakage even when the temperature of a gas in secondary piping is changed in the leakage confirming period. ;SOLUTION: This leakage confirming method for the secondary piping 3 of a gas meter 1 comprises opening a gas feed valve 11 of the gas meter 1, supplying a gas to the secondary piping 3 to raise the pressure within the secondary piping 3, then closing the valve 11, and confirming the presence of a gas leakage on the basis of the pressure change within the secondary piping 3 after closing. The temperature of the gas within the secondary piping 3 is measured, and the pressure change within the secondary piping 3 is temperature-corrected.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
