PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an application restricted in using period from being illegally used. ;SOLUTION: The application program using period management device 1 starts a communication means 5 for communication at the time of executing an application program, of which using period is restricted and allows the means 5 to access a reference time information providing site, and a reference time/date information acquiring means 3 acquires reference date information. A using period monitoring means 4 compares the acquired reference date with the using period 8 of the application program, and when the period is over, inhibits the start of the application program. Thereby when the using period end date of a set application program is restricted, the start of the program can be surely prevented after the lapse of the period even if the date of a built-in clock 2 in a computer is illegally adjusted.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
