FORMALIN DEODORIZING RESIN COMPOSITION, ITS MOLDING PRODUCT, FORMALIN DEODORIZING COATING AGENT COMPOSITION AND DEODORIZATION OF FORMALIN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition for markedly improving formalin deodorizing properties and providing deodorizing effects on acetaldehyde, by using both a weakly alkali substance and a hydrated silicic acid as a deodorant. ;SOLUTION: This composition is obtained by compounding a thermoplastic resin or a thermosetting resin with a weakly alkali substance (e.g. an oxide or hydroxide of an alkaline earth metal such as magnesium hydroxide as a deodorant composition) and a hydrated silicic acid as a deodorant component. For example, the silicic acid used is silica fine particles of the formula SiO₂.nH₂ O having a great number of silanol groups on the surface agglomerated into secondary particles. The amount of the silicic acid used is 0.1-5 pts.wt. based on 1 pt.wt. of the weakly alkali substance.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
