METHOD FOR PROCESSING YEAR OF CHRISTIAN ERA

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve hindrances to operation on various computers due to such chaos as a minus year number or inversion in large/small year relation in 2000 of the Christian Era by correcting part of a program. ;SOLUTION: Two kinds of function expression which convert lower two digits of 4-digit years into plus two-digit years within a range up to 99 years from a certain starting year to a certain end year are inserted as software filters right behind input instructions in respective source programs and right before output instructions. Further, a dedicated program which manages input devices and output devices is put as a hardware filter right behind the input devices and manages those devices or incorporated in part of the operating systems of the input devices and output devices instead of the software filters.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
