PURPOSE:To obtain a high-speed switching characteristic or high valid input sensitivity by serially adding an input resistor and an inductor to the direct coupling type Josephson logic gate. CONSTITUTION:In the state of impressing a gate current Ig, a signal current Il is impressed. A signal current Ii having extremely high starting is impressed to an input terminal Ti. When the current flowing into a Josephson junction J2 in the beginning, the large amount of signal current components flow to the junction J2 while decreasing the signal current component branched to the serial circuit of an input resistor Ri and an inductor Li since the Li is serially connected to the Ri and the impedance of the Li is also operated to the current Ii as high resistance. On the other hand, concerning operations after the transition of the J2 to a voltage state in the beginning, the operations are executed in order similar to the conventional 4JL type Josephson logic gate. At the final stage of transition moving the gate itself to the voltage state, the gate current Ig flows into the side of Rl and Ll a J1 in a zero voltage state is turned to the voltage state, and input and output are separated similarly to the conventional case.
