Formation of artificial sediment used to cover contaminated sediment in e.g. lakes, harbours or water courses

Formation of artificial sediment comprises mixing precipitation solution with reagent to form precipitate via a chemical reaction. During this reaction a carrier material and a reinforcing material are added to increase sedimentation speed and to bind together the flock formed in order to create an erosion-resistant, stable sediment with the same properties as natural sediment. An artificial sediment can be prepared by flocking an aluminum/silica based precipitation solution with sodium hydroxide whilst adding fine particles of sand and cellulose fibres.
