The network includes transformer stations, in which switches are housed, whereby the transformer stations and/or the switches are respectively equipped with a bar code which is identifiable by means of an electronic bar code reader. The bar code contains statements about the identification of the respective station or switch, as well as additional information, such as about a date of the installation, the last maintenance, etc.
