A relatively movable component such as a reflector is adjustably retained in a housing. The relatively movable component can be horizontally aimed, with a viewing port in a surface of the housing for viewing inside the housing. The headlamp calibration assembly comprises relatively movable lens disposed over the viewing port; and a horizontal position indicating in the form of indicia operatively associated with the relatively movable component and positioned fro viewing through the lens and viewing port. A sight is operatively associated with the lens for sighting the indicia such that once the desired horizontal position for the relatively movable component is attained the lens may be moved to align the sight with the indicia to provide a reproducible indication of the desired position. The horizontal position indicator includes an arm extending from the reflector, the arm having the indicia disposed it. Horizontal movement of the reflector produces a corresponding movement of the indicia relative to the sight.
