PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a horizontal drain instead of the conventional sand mat capable of making difficult to damage water conveyance efficiency even if pressure from filling, etc., is applied, selecting both of the remains in the ground and separation/extinction in the ground by selection of materials, having excellent water conveyance/drainage function and following any drain deformation of the ground. ;SOLUTION: A horizontal drain 10 is so constituted that a plurality of string- like or rope-like cores 11 are arranged in parallel, cottony space fillers 13 are arranged between the cores 11, and a plurality of cores 11 and fillers 13 are monolithically coated with woven or nonwoven outside coatings 12 to present a plate-like state.
