PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject inexpensively producible promoter capable of stably providing a high-quality mushroom in a high yield by making the promoter include a specific water-soluble compound. SOLUTION: This promoter contains calcium dihydrogenphosphate. This mushroom culture medium contains calcium dihydrogenphosphate. In the operation, the amount of dihydrogen phosphate added is preferably 0.01-5 wt.% based on the whole amount of the culture medium. Calcium dihydrogenphosphate is added to a mushroom culture medium and a mushroom can be cultured. Either anhydrous calcium dihydrogenphosphate or calcium dihydrogenphosphate monohydrate may be used as the kind of calcium dihydrogenphosphate and the kind is not limited to a food additive use, an industrial use and a test use.
