PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new peroxidase enzyme which originates from Geotrichum candidum Dec 1, shows high activity of decomposing broad kinds of dyes by possessing a specific property and is useful in the treatment or the like of dye waste liquids. ;SOLUTION: This peroxidase enzyme originates from Geotrichum candidum Dec 1, possesses the following properties: (i) the property of decomposing or decolorizing dyes, (ii) the molecular weight of 60 kDa in the molecular weight evaluation using SDS-PAGE, (iii) the molecular weight of 55 kDa in the molecular weight evaluation using gel filtration and (iv) pI (isoelectric point) of 3.8 in the evaluation by means of isoelectric point electrophoresis and contains the amino acid sequence of formula I. Further, it is favorable to carry out the decomposition and decorization of dyes by the use of a microorganism transformed by an expression plasmid vector containing a gene which has the DNA sequence of formula II and encodes the peroxidase enzyme.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
