PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polymer clathrate compound having affinity for organisms and capable of using for materials such as medicines and cosmetics directly applied to organisms. ;SOLUTION: This polymer clathrate compound is constituted of a polymer absorber represented by the formula [CG is a cyclodextrin residue formed of 6-8 monosaccharides and R1 is hydrogen atom or a derivative group of hydroxyl group which does not interfere inclusion of cycloglycan; R2 is hydrogen atom or an acyl group having 1-20 carbons; R3 is a crosslinkable group]. Since the polymer clathrate compound has a clathrate compound-forming ability which is characteristic to cycloglycan and has affinity for organisms, effectiveness of low molecular weight active ingredient such as pharmacodynamic ingredients, aromatic ingredients or pigments is retained for a long time when the polymer clathrate compound is used for medical-physiological materials, cosmetic additives, food additives, hygienic materials, or the like, directly applied to organisms and when the active ingredient is released.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
