PURPOSE: To provide a flame sprayed material and hearth roll where the flame sprayed material is applied and which is excellent in high temp. wear resistance and build up resistance. ;CONSTITUTION: This heat resistant flame sprayed material has a composition consisting of, by weight, ≥50% of refractory stabilized ZrO₂ part containing, as zirconium oxide structure stabilizing agent, ≤35% of one or more kinds among CaO, MgO, rare earth oxides, Y₂O₃, and HfO₂ and the balance consisting of SiO₂ type low-melting multiple oxide other than ZrO₂-SiO₂, low-melting eutectic ceramics or peritectic ceramics, and inevitable impurities and is constituted of refractory ceramics part 1 and low-melting ceramics part 2. Further, this hearth roll is prepared by forming a flame sprayed layer on it by using the above flame sprayed material. Because a film layer, constituted of the refractory ceramics part 1 and the low-melting ceramics part 2 and excellent in build up resistance, peeling resistance, and wear resistance, is formed on the roll surface, high quality and long service life, required of a hearth roll, can be accomplished.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
