PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an artificial knee joint implant having an expanded bent region. ;SOLUTION: A femur knee joint implant 1 has a fourth section of a joint. The thickness of an upper rear condyle part of a femur element is increased first to enlarge the end part of the upper side rear part of a rear condyle 6, thus providing an upper rear joint surface. The surface formed anew at the upper rear condyle is then smoothly rounded to provide a joint surface without an abrupt change in surface shape. In one embodiment, the fourth joint section is provided by single component femur design. In another embodiment the fourth joint section is provided being added as a module type to an existing femur element of conventional technique. In the other embodiment the fourth joint section is connected to rear side stabilizing artificial knee joint total replacement technique design including a tibia column characterized by the low engagement of a cam with a spine, and a femur cam cooperating with it.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
