摘要
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the mixing of titanium and Al and to stably produce a sintered body of a Ti-Al alloy (intermetallic compd.) by using hydrogen-contg. sponge titanium obtd. by regulating the grain size and controlling the hydrogenizing conditions such as pressure, temp. or the like. ;SOLUTION: Sieved sponge titanium of about ≤50 mm is charged into a furnace and is heated at 300 to 500°C for 1 min to 1 hr in a hydrogen current under about 1 to 5 atmospheric pressure. This sponge titanium subjected to the hydrogen absorbing treatment contains ≥3.5 mass % hydrogen and has 1 to 20 mm grain size. The sponge titanium subjected to the absorbing treatment and aluminum powder, grains or pieces are charged into a vessel and are subjected to ball milling by using a rotary ball mill or the like. The ball milling is executed in an atmosphere of inert gas or in a vacuum. By the milling for about 10 to 200 hr, an alloy powdery mixture in which aluminum and hydrogen are allowed to enter into solid solution in α-titanium can be obtd. The content of oxygen in the obtd. sponge titanium is ≤0.05%.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
