PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low pressure casting machine and a low pressure casting method with which the air in a mold, a stoke and a holding furnace can efficiently be replaced into a non-oxidizing gas without complicating the constitution of the casting machine and to provide a low pressure casting product having good quality without a defect in the product. ;SOLUTION: This low pressure casting machine is provided with a holding furnace 2 tightly closed in an almost air-tight state, a gas supplying means 7 for supplying a non-oxidizing gas into the holding furnace 2, a stoke 22 for communicating the holding furnace 2 with molds 3, 4, a furnace elevating/lowering means 6 as a positional change-over means for changing-over the position between a casting position dipping the opening part 22a of the stoke 22 into molten metal 9 in the holding furnace 2 and a replaced position opening at least a part of the opening part 22a to the upper part than the molten metal surface by elevating/lowering the holding furnace 2 and a control means 8 supplying the non-oxidizing gas into the holding furnace 2 in the state of shifting the stoke 22 to the replacing position by controlling the gas supplying means 7 and the furnace elevating/lowering means 6 to replace the air in the holding furnace 2, the stoke 22 and the molds 3, 4 with the non-oxidizing gas.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
