PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a winding machine for an OPGW optical cable which is transferred in a span by utilizing a wire and whose winding tension is high near the center of the span, low near both ends of the span and, further, can be changed continuously and automatically while the machine is in operation. ;SOLUTION: A cam 5 which is elliptical or has a part of an elliptical shape is incorporated in an optical cable winding tension regulating mechanism provided in an optical cable winding machine whose optical cable winding tension can be changed by the rotation of the cam 5. As the concrete pattern of the optical cable winding tension regulating mechanism in which the cam 5 is incorporated, the elliptical plane of the cam 5 is pressed against the outside surface of a braking band 2 wound on a pulley 1 related to a winding drive shaft. Or, the elliptical plane of the cam 5 may be pressed against the outside surface of one of brake shoes provided so as to have the pulley 1 related to a winding drive shaft held between them.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
