PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seam detecting device to provide rapid responsiveness and be excellent in detecting sensitivity and facilitate regulation of detecting sensitivity. ;SOLUTION: A seam detecting device for a web-form article 2 continuously moving comprises a cylinder 4 made of a magnetic substance supported around an axis; a conversion device 7 positioned facing the cylinder 4 with the web-form article 2 nipped therebetween and converting the thickness of the web-form article 2 into a change of an electric signal; and an output device to compare a pre-stored threshold and the intensity of an electric signal generated at the conversion device 7 and output a signal when the electric signal exceeds the threshold.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
