PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the remediation period of a contaminated site.;SOLUTION: Plural injection wells 12 for dissolving an inducible substrate for inducing decomposing enzymes for chemical substances in groundwater drawn from a pumping well 10 to feed them to a contaminated site are arranged around the pumping well 10 put between the injection wells 12. Therefore, the groundwater injected to the injection wells 12 flows toward the pumping well 10 from the periphery of the pumping well 10. Then, bacterial for decomposing the contaminated chemical substances can be increased in the periphery of the pumping well 10. And the groundwater flowing into the pumping well 10 is that which has passed through a bed in which these bacteria grow up. In this way, the polluting chemical substances in the groundwater circulated to the pumping well 10 can be effectively removed to allow the purifying period of the contaminated site to be sharply shortened.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
