PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a resin composition capable of uniformly dispersing a plant root growth-controlling agent onto the inner wall of a container and properly controlling root growth in culture of plants. ;SOLUTION: This resin composition contains (C) 0.001-30 wt.% plant root growth controlling agent in a resin matrix composed of (A) 60-100 wt.% one or more resin components selected from a styrene-based resin, olefinic resin and acrylic resin and (B) 0-40 wt.% biodegradable, decaying and water-soluble polymer. The resin composition is produced so that a plant root growth controlling agent is uniformly distributed on a resin matrix by a mixing method using a conventional kneading and extruding apparatus.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
