FAIL SAFE METHOD AND DEVICE FOR AUTOMATIC STOPPING DEVICE FOR ENGINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent start failure even if runaway of a computer occurs by detecting existence of a standby flag after a controller performs an initial setting, and by returning an electric load state to a state just before generation of a reset signal according to detection result of the flag. ;SOLUTION: When a watch dog pulse 25b is not transmitted to a ranaway monitoring device 25 due to ranaway of a controller 20, the controller 20 performs an initial setting and resets an engine. Next, the controller 20 judges whether a standby flag SB is set to '1', and when SB is 0, it turns off a switch 18a of a relay 18 and also a switch 17a of a relay 17. This cuts off conduction of a head light to an electric load 12 to prevent consumption of a battery 13. When SB is 1, and stop of the engine is detected when the ranaway monitoring device 25 cannot detect any ranaway of the controller 20, a fuel cut relay is turned off to set the engine to a startable state.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
