PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the flow of a cellulose fibrous material slurry in a treating vessel for the finely ground cellulose fibrous material and in its turn the uniformity of the treatment.;SOLUTION: The uniformization of a slurry liquid of a finely ground cellulose fibrous material (e.g. a wood chip) in a vertical vessel is carried out by vertically arranging sets of substantially, continuously or discontinuously protruding parts in two or more stages extending from the inner surface of the vessel to the interior to about 1-12 inches (2.5-30 cm) maximal distance. A preferred vessel is a continuous type or a batch type cooker. The protruding parts have an arched, a rectangular, an isosceles triangular or a scalene triangular, a right-angled triangular or a trapezoidal shape and the interval between the vertical stages is preferably about 1-12 feet (0.3-3.6 m). The height is preferably about 1-3 feet (0.3-0.9 m). The discontinuosly protruding parts preferably have 1-10 feet (0.3-3 m) length of arch intervals.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
