PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ferritic stainless steel excellent in formability, which enables the working of a continuously cast slab into prescribed shape by means of hot working and cold working without causing surface defect, crack, and rupture, and its cast slab. ;SOLUTION: The ferritic stainless steel excellent in formability has a chemical composition consisting of, by mass, 0.02-0.10% C, 0.003-0.05% N, 0.03-1.0% Si, ≤1.0% Mn, ≤0.04% P, 0.03% S, 14-18% Cr, 0.02-0.3% Ti, 0.001-0.005% O, 0.003-0.015% Al, ≤0.0005% Ca, ≤0.0005% Mg, ≤0.6% Ni, and the balance Fe with impurities, and further, compound inclusions of Al inclusions and Ti inclusions are dispersed in the steel. The cast ferritic stainless steel slab is provided with the above chemical composition and has 70% equiaxed crystal ratio.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
