Proteinaceous polymers, having repetitive units of naturally occurring structural proteins, are used as backbones for cross-linking functionalities, to provide adhesives and sealants for strongly adherent fabrics. In particular, block copolymers of elastin and fibroin are employed with lysine substitutions in units separated by spaces, where the amino group can be cross-linked using difunctional cross-linking agents.
