The present disclosure relates to a new method for early detection of and bloodless acute rejection after orthotopic liver transplantation, by studying the intensity of expression of costimulatory molecules CD28, CTLA-4, CD80 and CD86, as determined by the mean fluorescence channel estimated by flow cytometry techniques, peripheral blood cells taken from every 3 days after transplantation. Applications: This method allows early detection and preventive treatment of acute rejection after orthotopic liver transplantation, which is the advantage of avoiding damage to the graft and use of more aggressive treatments late.
