PURPOSE: A method for testing an additive white Gaussian noise(AWGN) and multi-path fading is provided to reduce measurement errors by adding basic base station information and a test environment to a program, and by automatically setting up a measuring equipment and a base station parameter in the program. CONSTITUTION: A program sets up a base station, a measurer, and attenuators to set up an initial environment for performing a base station receiving test. A power controlling function of a mobile station is disabled. A tested call is set up in the mobile station from a base station. The program varies transmitting power of the mobile station by using variable attenuators. The transmitting power is measured by the measurer, and Eb/No values are calculated by using a measured result. The values are displayed on Eb/No lists. A frame error rate(FER) is measured from the mobile station. The FER is displayed on an FER list. Whenever tests are completed, tested results are stored.
