METHOD FOR PREVENTING CHILDREN FROM TELEVIWING SPECIFIC PROGRAMS ON TV SET

PURPOSE: A method for preventing children from televiewing specific programs on a TV set is provided so that the children can not watch adult programs by setting or canceling a child lock function with respect to users' request. CONSTITUTION: A micro computer performs an initializing operation when power of a TV set is turned on, and identifies a channel or an audio-visual(AV) mode before turning off the power. Whether the child lock is set up on the channel or the AV mode is decided. If not, a broadcast signal or an AV signal before turning off the power is inputted to normally output the signal, and a key signal inputting routine is performed. If the child lock is set up, image/sound signals are muted. An on-screen display(OSD) is controlled to output an OSD screen for inputting a password. A password is inputted through a key input circuit. A password inputting process and the inputted password is compared with the preset password. If the two passwords are equal, the OSD and a sound signal muting unit are controlled to normally output the image/the sound signals.
