PURPOSE: A method of remote multimedia education in a synchronous/asynchronous mode, is provided to enable a student to download data for studying through connection to a host(total session manager) in an asynchronous mode, and to invite a counseling teacher to ask a question in a synchronous mode. CONSTITUTION: If an asynchronous application(72) connects with a total session manager(73) to request a data list stored in a database(701), the total session manager(73) supplies the data list to the asynchronous application(72)(702). A student in the asynchronous application(72) selects necessary data and requests the data to the total session manager(73)(703). The total session manager(73) transmits the selected data(704). The asynchronous application(72) displays the data to the student for self-studying(705). If the student has a question, the student requests data for teachers to the total session manager(73)(706), the total session manager(73) transmits IP(Internet Protocol) addresses for teachers registered in the database to the student through the asynchronous application(72)(707). If the student selects one teacher, the asynchronous application(72) executes a synchronous application(71), and delivers an IP address of the selected teacher and information of data studied by the student to the synchronous application(71)(708). The synchronous application(71) inquires about the invitation possibility of the teacher in another synchronous application(74)(709). If the teacher responds to the invitation(710), the synchronous application(74) of the teacher checks the data studied by the student(711). A synchronous mode of session is formed(714) between the student and the teacher(714). If the studied data do not exist, the data are requested to the total session manager(73)(712). The data are downloaded(714) and a synchronous mode of session is formed between the student and the teacher(714).
