FIELD: wood-working industry. SUBSTANCE: method includes stages of technological process that provide for effluent, determination of stage-by-stage specific indices of liberation of polluting substances relative to chosen value. Stage-by-stage specific effluents of polluting substances for products manufactured by several factories are determined as stage-by-stage specific indices and weighted mean stage-by-stage specific effluents of polluting substances are used to find gross effluent of polluting substances from examined factory into atmosphere : M=B-Kwm kg/h, where M is gross effluent of polluting substances from examined factory into atmosphere, kg/h; B is output of wallboard plates at examined factory, cu.m/h; Kwm is weighted mean stage- by-stage specific effluent of polluting substances, kg per cu.m of plate; n is number of stages of technological process that produces effluent of analyzed polluting substances into atmosphere. EFFECT: increased accuracy in determination of gross effluent of analyzed polluting substances, simplified approach, enhanced productivity of operations with ecological examination of wallboard factories. 1 tbl
