The deception method uses a decoy device (1) with a detector and a radiator positioned at a distance from a target (25) and activated automatically upon detection of the laser beam (21) of the munition guidance system, for providing a decoy laser beam (24') with the same pulse rate as the laser beam (24) reflected from the target and a higher energy level.
