Combinations comprise (i) resistant high-temperature polymer as substrate with (ii) an electrochemically active layer with one of the lay-outs described in examples or a 3- or multi-electrode thin-film sensor. Combinations comprise (i) resistant high-temperature polymer (polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), ethylene-chlorotrifluoroethylene copolymer (E/CTFE), polyimide (PI), polyether-imide (PEI), polyether sulfone (PES), polyamide-imide (PAI) etc.) as substrate with (ii) an electrochemically active layer (platinum, iridium, palladium, rhodium, ruthenium, rhenium, silver, gold, carbon, compounds, e.g. ruthenium dioxide, zinc oxide, lead oxide, alloys with aluminum, titanium, nickel, tungsten or silicon or other electrochemically active substances) with one of the lay-outs described in examples or a 3- or multi-electrode thin-film sensor. Independent claims are also included for (a) modification of the surface of a thin film sensor or one of the 3- or multi-electrode thin film sensor lay-outs described in the examples with mercury; (b) insulation of one of these sensor lay-outs with silicone rubber, PTFE, E/CTFE, fluorinated high temperature polymer or resistant insulating substance; (c) through- or planar contacting of one of the lay-outs; and (d) lay-outs of the 5- or multi-electrode film (round or rectangular structure).
