The bottle top has a locking mechanism(30,31) which fixes the position of a lever element after the first-time screwing on of the top and prevents a self-induced swinging back after releasing the top(1). The pivot point of the lever element is orientated approximately parallel to the associated circumferential section(33) of the bottle neck(5), and is located above the edge(11) of the neck. The lever element is in two sections each having a support face(29,40) which bear on the top edge of the bottle neck and on the side face of the neck respectively.
