The method involves measuring the flow of heat from the outer pipe surface to the surroundings (3) using at least one heat flow sensor (2) mounted on the outer pipe surface and measuring the temp. of the medium and the ambient temp. with suitably mounted temp. sensors. An Independent claim is also included for an arrangement for determining the vol. flow or flow speed and/or temp. of a flowing medium in a pipe.
