Process for feeding hot particle-charged gases from a metallurgical vessel into a gas purification plant comprises deviating the edge region of the rotating gas stream and treating independent of the gas main stream. An Independent claim is also included for an apparatus for feeding hot particle-charged gases from a metallurgical vessel into a gas purification plant comprising a gas line (11) connecting the metallurgical plant to a gas purification plant having a cloth filter. The gas line has a tubular region with a concentrically arranged fluidizing part (14) which rotates the gas stream. The tubular wall of the partial region (12) of the gas line has an opening (22) through which a gas partial stream (GT) of the gas is removed from the gas line. The opening is partially covered by a cap (31). The cap is fixed to the edge of the opening so that a predetermined amount can be deviated from the edge region of the gas main stream (GH). The opening is connected to a gas feed (21) for the gas partial stream.
