The device is for altering the control times of the gas exchange valves of an internal combustion engine. It is particularly a camshaft adjustment device with a vane wheel (8) and comprises a drive wheel (2) formed as an outer rotor and drive-connected via a tractive device with the engine crankshaft. The drive wheel comprises a hollow chamber formed by a hollow cylindrical peripheral wall and two side walls (4,5). One of the side walls or the peripheral wall has a gearing (7) for the tractive device. A vane wheel is formed as an inner rotor connected with the engine camshaft and is inserted in the hollow space of the drive wheel. On the peripheral surface (9) of its wheel nave (10) it has at least one radially arranged vane (11).
