The method involves placing markers (M1-M4) on the head, neck and shoulders of a subject (1). The locus curve (mi) of each marker in three-dimensions is measured as a function of time and stored as a data set (DS). The differences between the average values of the locus curve representing each shoulder movement and the locus curve representing the head movement are determined and used to generate a two-dimensional movement pattern. An Independent claim is included for a device for implementing the method.
