The method involves measuring the flow rate of blood and/or dialysis liquid through a blood chamber (3) or dialysis liquid chamber (4) of the dialyser (1) and/or the ultrafiltration rate during dialysis and determining the clearance and dialysance for the determined blood flow rate and/or dialysis liquid flow rate and/or ultrafiltration rate based on the clearance and dialysance for a given determined blood flow rate and/or dialysis liquid flow rate and/or ultrafiltration rate. An Independent claim is also included for a dialysis device for implementing the method.
