X-ray process has the following steps: X-raying of an target (18) from one position (A) in the plane of an X-ray emitter (12) then storage of the image electronically via an X-ray detector (14) and then X-raying of the target from a second position (B) in the plane of the emitter. Finally the images are combined stereoscopically to provide a three-dimensional internal image of the target. An Independent claim is made for a stereoscopic X-ray imaging system where either the emitter or detector can be moved relative to the other.
