The disc (5,6) truing machine is mounted on a trolley (9) positioned beneath the axle (2) of a rail vehicle. The tool (41) is mounted on a support which can be adjusted both vertically (15,33) and horizontally (17,18), bringing the tool into contact with the face of the brake disc. An electric motor (24) drives a roller (25) which rotates the wheel to rotate the disc against the tool.
