Nitroso melatonin derivatives (I) are new. Nitroso melatonin derivatives of formula (I) and their salts are new. R1 = H, or 1-4C alkyl or 1-4C alkoxy; R2 = H or 1-4C alkyl; R3 = H, methyl or halo; R4, R5 = H or halo; R6 = H or 1-4C alkyl. An Independent claim is also included for the preparation of (I).
