The torsion damper for a car clutch has a friction disk connected to an output hub via a main damper and pre-damper. The main damper comprises a ring (24) which engages with play with the hub. Two guide rings (22) connected to the friction disk are arranged on either side of the ring. Springs (30) which act circumferentially are mounted in grooves in the main and guide ring, and friction rings (58, 60) are positioned between the main ring and one of the guide rings. The predamper comprises a similar main ring, guide rings (42, 44) which are driven by the main ring of the main damper, radially-acting springs (50) and friction rings (60, 64) between a guide ring of the main damper and hub. One guide ring (42) of the pre-ring fits into a mounting on the main ring of the main damper and the other guide ring fits into a mounting on the first guide ring.
