PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of promoting the crystallization of a biopolymer such as protein. ;SOLUTION: A silicon crystal 80 controlled in valence electron so as to enable the concentration of positive holes or electrons on its surface to be controlled according to the environment of a buffer solution 88 containing a biopolymer such as protein is brought into contact with the buffer solution 88, which is injected through the reverse face side of the silicon crystal 80 via a through hole 86 and held on the crystal 80 in the form of a droplet pendulous in the gravitational direction. The silicon crystal 80 is provided with plural grooves or holes 82a-f differing in size from one another, and the valence electrons in the crystal lie controlled so as to promote the crystallization of the biopolymer inside the grooves or holes.
