PURPOSE:To produce a machining path sentence with high efficiency and high accuracy by retrieving successively the closed loop-shaped graphics out of the graphic data showing a machining shape, deciding each corresponding graphic as each machining graphic, and setting the contour of each machining graphic to the machining path. CONSTITUTION:A graphic retrieving part 17 retrieves successively the closed loop- shaped graphics out of the graphic data inputted to a graphic data input part 15. A processing path setting part 19 decides these retrieved graphics as the machining graphics respectively and sets the contour of each machining graphic to a machining path. An approach path setting part 21 sets an approach path for laser machining of each machining graphic. A machining direction setting part 23 sets the machining direction of each machining graphic. A final value setting part 25 sets the final value of the machining path for each machining graphic in accordance with the method to take out each segmented graphic. In such a constitution, the graphics can be automatically produced by a patterned procedure. Thus an accurate machining path sentence is produced in an extremely short time and with high efficiency and with no troublesome jobs required.
